Insurance – The Growth Engine of LIFE IS HARD in Insurtech

Despite a challenging year, LIFE IS HARD showed resilience and adaptability, continuing to innovate and expand its digital solutions ecosystem for the insurance industry. Strategic investments of 2.95 million lei in platforms and solutions such as 24Broker, 24MGA, 24Consultant, the 24broker.ro website, and the Core Insurance API suite have strengthened the company's position as a key partner for brokers and insurers in Romania and across Europe.

“2024 was a year of progress and consolidation for LIFE IS HARD. We continued to invest in technology and expand our market presence, addressing the increasingly complex needs of our insurance partners. The outstanding performance of the Tomorrow Division confirms our growth strategy and motivates us to accelerate the digital transformation of the industry,” said Cătălin Chiș, CEO of LIFE IS HARD.

Key achievements of the Tomorrow Division in 2024 include:

  • A 6% revenue increase compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing adoption of LIH solutions in the insurance industry.
  • The success of the 24Broker platform, Romania's most advanced brokerage solution, used by over 100 brokers and more than 11,000 active users. With an NPS score of 49%, it is regarded as the most efficient insurtech solution on the market.
  • The expansion of the 24MGA solution, designed for European insurance companies, generating RON 2.28 million in revenue — a 91.96% increase from 2023.
  • Enhanced technological capabilities through the development of the Core Insurance API suite, facilitating digital distribution and seamless integrations for brokers and insurers.

Looking ahead, LIFE IS HARD remains committed to investing in advanced digital solutions and expanding its international presence, reinforcing its role as an insurtech innovator.

Engine Division – Driving Digital Transformation at local and national levels

The Engine Division, focused on SME digitalization, contributed 38% to LIH's total turnover, amounting to RON 9.95 million. Although revenue for this division declined compared to 2023, it secured new partnerships and introduced new tech products and services, diversifying its portfolio to meet specific client needs.

“The Engine Division's performance was influenced by external factors, such as stagnating revenues in the telecommunications sector and changing the telecom operator, as well as strategic decisions made earlier in the year aimed at accelerating growth — though these did not yield the expected results within the initially projected timeframe. However, the recovery in the last quarter gives us confidence for 2025, when we will continue strengthening our position and supporting the digitalization of SMEs and the insurance sector. As the telecom and insurance industries face pressure both locally and regionally, we are focusing on identifying opportunities within this dynamic landscape to ensure sustainable medium&long-term growth,” said Cătălin Chiș, CEO of LIFE IS HARD.

In 2024, LIH signed a new contract with the Cluj County Council worth over RON 4 million, spanning three years. The collaboration aims to continue the institution's digitalization process, initiated in 2020 through the EU-funded “Smart Territory” project, which seeks to automate and integrate public services into a unified digital system.

Additionally, the company secured a new EU-funded project, “Work is Cool – Preparing Students for Competition and Performance,” valued at RON 5 million. The project will support 250 students, master's candidates, and PhD students from underdeveloped regions of Romania, providing them with relevant internships and professional development opportunities over two years under the mentorship of LIFE IS HARD experts, starting in January 2025.

The next phase of the Sales Academy will focus on the insurance industry, reinforcing LIFE IS HARD's ongoing commitment to education and innovation—the foundations of the future.
