Rețele Electrice Romania launches tender for network investments

Business Forum
Rețele Electrice Romania, part of the PPC Group, has initiated a tender on the SEAP electronic public procurement platform, valued at approximately RON 25 million lei (€5 million) - excluding VAT.

The tender focuses on purchasing concrete structures for secondary substations, intended for investment projects between 2025 and 2026.

The aim is to enhance the infrastructure's reliability and resilience in the face of climate change, increased urbanisation, and evolving consumption patterns. It also seeks to provide a more efficient distribution service that better meets current consumption needs.

Mihai Pește, GM of Rețele Electrice România, stated that these investments are crucial for making the electricity distribution network more reliable and resilient, and for better serving customers' consumption needs.

The deadline for submitting bids on SEAP is April 24th, and the awarded contract will span 36 months. To promote sustainability, the company will give additional points to bidders who use recyclable packaging.

The company operates electricity networks covering approximately 134,000 km in Muntenia Sud (including Bucharest), Banat, and Dobrogea, representing one third of the local distribution market. These networks include 289 power stations and over 25,000 secondary substations.
