Delgaz Grid launches AI-powered chatbot

Business Forum
Delgaz Grid, the energy distribution company part of German E.ON Group, has launched Delia, an AI-powered virtual assistant.

Delia's core functionalities include providing information on gas and electricity grid connections, detailing the necessary documentation for various requests, and explaining Delgaz Grid services such as technical inspections, fault reports, and payment methods.

The chatbot also guides users through scheduling meter readings or replacements, including details on available meter types, estimated durations, and replacement conditions.

Cristian Secoșan, General Director of Delgaz Grid, said: “It is a natural step in our digitalization strategy and a firm commitment to improving customer interaction.”

The company's other digital services include an online solution for natural gas connections, a platform for prosumers to connect to the grid and become renewable electricity producers and an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for digitizing electrical network operations.

Delgaz Grid operates a 26,000 km natural gas network across 20 counties in Northern and Western Romania and an 82,000 km electricity network in six Moldovan counties, serving 3.6 million customers. Since entering the local market in 2005, E.ON has invested €2.4 billion, primarily in modernizing gas and electricity networks.
