Energy Distribution Services to buy three wind farms in Romania

Business Forum
The Romanian Competition Council is currently reviewing the acquisition of three energy companies by the Romanian company Energy Distribution Services.

Energy Distribution Services is taking over Ground Investment Corp SRL, Elektra Wind Power SRL, and Elektra Green Power SRL.

All four companies are active in the Romanian electricity production and trading markets, as well as the green certificate market.

Ground Investment Corp SRL operates the CEE Babadag 3 power plant, which began operations in 2016.

Elektra Wind Power SRL owns and operates the CEE Tortomanu 3 power plant, commissioned in 2012, while Elektra Green Power SRL operates the CEE Tortomanu 2 power plant, which started functioning in 2011.

The Council will assess the transaction to determine its compatibility with a normal competitive environment and will issue a decision within the legal timeframe.
