Electrica completes solar project in Satu Mare

Business Forum
Power producer Electrica has finalized and commissioned a photovoltaic park with a capacity of 27 MW in Satu Mare county, following an investment of around  RON 20 million (€4.02 million).

The project, which was partially funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), is expected to increase the share of renewable energy within the Electrica Group's energy mix.

"This project demonstrates that we can transform funding opportunities into investments with a direct impact on communities and the environment. We will continue to develop similar projects that allow us to increase our renewable energy production capacities, reduce our carbon footprint, and strengthen Romania's position in the energy transition," says Alexandru Chiriță, CEO of Electrica.

The Electrica Group provides services for 4 million users, covering 18 counties across three geographical areas for electricity distribution (Transylvania North, Transylvania South, and Muntenia North).
