Metaminds-Trencadis consortium to develop Romanian governmental cloud

Business Forum
The Metaminds-Trencadis Corp Association has secured a framework agreement to provide internal cloud TIC solutions and products for Romania's Governmental Cloud project.

The contract, awarded through a public tender, is valued at an estimated RON427 million (€85.4 million), and is being funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

This strategic project, coordinated by the Romanian state, aims to develop a modern, secure, and high-performance IT infrastructure to support the digitalization of public services across Romania.

The initiative is one of Romania's key digital transformation projects, financed by the PNRR's Digital Transformation Component.

Metaminds will be responsible for delivering and configuring processing, storage, and backup equipment, and implementing IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) cloud solutions. Additionally, Metaminds will provide installation, configuration, commissioning, service-level integration, and technical staff training to ensure the complete operationalization and interoperability of the cloud ecosystem among government institutions.

Ovidiu Ghiman, CEO of Metaminds, said: “Our involvement in this project is a natural continuation of Metaminds' commitment to supporting Romania's digital transformation through advanced and secure technology solutions. We understand the importance of this project for the future of public services, and we are committed to working at an accelerated pace to deliver it within the contractual deadline. This project is essential for the digital transformation of public administration, and one of our objectives is to support the PNRR milestones on which the €500 million allocated to the entire Governmental Cloud depends.”

The infrastructure will be implemented across four national data centers located in Bucharest, Brașov, Sibiu, and Timiș. It will integrate advanced solutions for processing, storage, security, backup, and automated management of IT infrastructure.
