Uber Eats launches in Romania as part of major expansion

Business Forum
Uber Eats will launch in Romania later this year as part of Uber's expansion across Europe. Romania will be one of seven new markets launching in 2026, alongside Denmark, Norway, Finland, Austria, Greece and Czechia.

The app will provide access to restaurants and retail stores for locals and tourists. Users will be able to browse nearby restaurants and stores, place orders, and track their deliveries in real time from pickup to drop-off.

As a global platform, Uber Eats connects consumers with local businesses. Worldwide, the app works with over one million restaurants and merchants in more than 10,000 cities. Whether it's dinner from a nearby restaurant or groceries for home, everything is available at the push of a button in one app.

Uber Eats offers advantages for local businesses. Merchants gain access to Uber's user base and delivery network and can expand their reach beyond their physical locations. The platform provides merchant partners with tools ranging from data analytics to marketing support to optimise operations and improve service quality.

"We are pleased to expand into Romania and see potential here to make everyday life easier," says Courtney Tims, Regional General Manager for Western and Southern Europe at Uber Eats. "With our launch, people in Romania will have a new, convenient way to shop from their local businesses at the tap of a button. At the same time, we provide local merchants with a platform to reach more customers than ever before and continue growing their business in the digital economy."

Uber Eats had exited Romania in the summer of 2020.
