The €1.7 million investment doubles the group's compost production capacity from 7,000 to approximately 14,000 tonnes per year through the valorisation of more than 40,000 tonnes of manure annually. The facility includes a sorting line and packaging unit, enabling DN Agrar to commercialise compost in 5- to 40-litre bags as well as big bags, supporting a dual-market strategy with access to both B2B and B2C customers.
"The completion of our second composting facility marks a concrete expansion of operational capacity and the development of a new value stream complementary to our core dairy business," said Peter de Boer, CEO of DN Agrar Group. By 2030, the company plans to expand its annual compost production capacity to 40,000 tonnes.
The milestone represents a step in executing the group's 2025-2030 development strategy, which focuses on expanding existing business lines, diversifying revenue streams, and creating shareholder value. Based on progress achieved in 2025, DN Agrar has decided to pursue an upgrade to the Main Market of the BVB in H1 2027.
DN Agrar has applied for Ecocert organic certification, expected to complete in the first quarter of 2026, and initiated organic certification under EU standards. The company expects to yield 16,000 carbon credits annually for each facility over an initial five-year period, eligible for two consecutive renewals extending the total period to 15 years.
