Hidroelectrica to add PV systems to its power plants

Business Forum
Hidroelectrica has announced the signing of a contract for the development of a photovoltaic project at its power plants on the middle and lower sections of the Olt River.

The project is part of the company's strategy to diversify its renewable energy sources and efficiently utilize existing infrastructure.

The contract, valued at RON 9 million excluding VAT (€1.75 million), was awarded to Servelect in collaboration with subcontractor Electroplus, following a competitive bidding process that included four offers. The project is slated for completion within 24 months, with 4 months allocated for design and 20 months for execution.

The project will include the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of photovoltaic systems across 20 of Hidroelectrica's hydropower plants located on the Olt River. The systems will feature 620W photovoltaic panels, 100kW inverters, and energy optimizers, with a total installed panel capacity of 2,955.58 kW and an estimated annual energy production of 3,710.87 MWh.

This investment represents a milestone for Hidroelectrica, as it is its first project to integrate photovoltaic panels into its operations.

Hidroelectrica, Romania's largest producer of green energy, operates 188 plants with a hydro energy capacity of 6.4 GW and also owns a 108 MW wind farm in Crucea.
