CEC Bank continues the digitization process and implements a new functionality for companies: the Debit Instrument Scanning in the Mobile Banking application - CEC app.

"CEC Bank continues its digitalization strategy by offering 100% digital solutions. Through the new functionality, the possibility of remote remittance of the image of the original Debit Instruments (Checks, Promissory Notes, Bills of Exchange) has been implemented, in order to be cashed by eligible customers through the facilities of the Mobile Banking application - CEC app. This functionality, in the form developed by us, is a first in the Romanian banking market. Our objective is to simplify the customers' relationship with the Bank, ensuring fast flows, time saving and fast processing. By accessing this functionality, customers no longer have to go to the Bank to deposit their Debit Instruments for cashing and after transmission through the Mobile Banking application, the Debit Instruments go through the normal processing flow, as at present. The digitalization of banking services continues by bringing other banking products and services in the processing area 100% online", said Mugur Podaru, Director of Remote Operations, CEC Bank.

Specifically, with this functionality, the ID images retrieved through the CEC app are automatically forwarded for processing for remittance for cashing.

The new functionality, which is now available in the Mobile Banking app, is aimed at corporate customers who meet a number of eligibility criteria. In this regard, customers are invited to contact the territorial units where they have their current account.

CEC Bank is the financial institution with the longest tradition in Romania. Founded in 1864, CEC Bank currently has the most extensive national network, with more than 1,000 branches and territorial units and assets of RON 83.5 billion at the end of 2023.

CEC Bank is a leading universal bank on the Romanian market and offers a full range of products and services to individuals, SMEs and large corporates through multiple distribution channels: banking units, ATM and POS networks, mobile banking (CEC app) and the CEC_IN virtual store - where banking products and services can be accessed 100% online.
