Draxlmaier and Dacia receive over €34 million in state aid

Romania's Ministry of Finance has signed financing agreements for two major investment projects in the automotive sector, with a combined state aid of RON 171.2 million (€34.5 million).

The funding has been secured by DRM Draxlmaier Romania Sisteme Electrice and Automobile Dacia.

Alexandru Nazare, Minister of Finance, said: "We aim to soon announce other strategic measures to support investments and economic development, in order to increase Romania's attractiveness and be able to create new opportunities. Romania has huge potential, which we can reach with enough ambition and measures that restore confidence in our country.”

DRM Draxlmaier Romania will receive RON 133.7 million (€27 million) to expand its production of wiring harnesses for electric vehicles. The investment, totalling RON 297.2 million (€60 million), is expected to create over 400 new jobs by 2030 and generate a regional development contribution of RON 211 million (€42.5 million) in local and national taxes. 

Meanwhile, Automobile Dacia has been granted RON 37.5 million (€7.5 million) for a RON 85 million (€17 million) project to modernise its vehicle painting process. The company's tax contribution to regional development from this project is estimated at RON 18.7 million (€3.8 million).
