Kai-Uwe Trillenberg will take the helm at Mercedes-Benz Romania, replacing Natalie Thompson.

Trillenberg, currently Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Mercedes-Benz Thailand, will officially assume the CEO role in December 2025.

Thompson is departing the company to pursue other professional opportunities. To ensure a smooth transition, Trillenberg will be on-site in November 2025 for a handover period with Thompson.

Trillenberg's career with the automotive giant began in 2003 with smart GmbH, where he gained experience in several European markets including Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Austria. He later transitioned to Mercedes-Benz, where he was responsible for Market Management in the UK and Ireland.

He also held the position of Head of Marketing & Sales at smart-BRABUS GmbH, where he developed the successful "smart-BRABUS tailor-made" individualization program.

His international experience also includes leading Product Management for Compact Cars in China and playing a crucial role in key strategic initiatives and network development there from 2014 onwards.
