Menteno, fully Romanian hotel service that reduces request resolution time from hours to minutes

Business Forum
Two young entrepreneurs, experienced in product design have launched Menteno, a unique digital solution in Romania that transforms the way hotels, aparthotels, and properties manage guest requests and feedback. Menteno significantly improves operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through a simplified and automated process, reducing response time to guest requests from hours to just a few minutes.

The Menteno system, already implemented in three hotels with over 180 rooms and a residential complex with 30 apartments, optimizes request management through a three-step process: guests scan a QR code available in the room, the team instantly receives the assigned tasks, and the manager supervises all activities in real-time. This efficient workflow ensures a quick and precise response to customer requests, contributing to an enhanced guest experience.

“We are committed to providing a product that not only meets the industry's high standards but also anticipates future market needs. With extensive experience in product design, we have developed an intuitive and user-friendly platform to address the complex needs of the HoReCa industry,” says Alberto Valentin Cococi, co-founder of Menteno.

Isabela Anton, manager of Nord Residence 1, highlights the solution's positive impact: “We implemented Menteno in our apartment complex, and it has been a real help in promptly addressing issues that arise during guests' stays, as the system instantly directs information to the responsible person. We will extend the implementation to all our accommodation units in the next season.”

A study by Harvard Business School shows that negative reviews can significantly reduce annual profit, although the exact percentages can vary depending on location, hotel size, and other specific industry factors. Currently, most hotels use rudimentary communication methods to address customer requests and feedback, such as Excel and WhatsApp. However, 60% of hotel managers anticipate automating operations will positively impact the guest experience, and 56% expect this transformation to lead to increased profits, according to a study by one of the largest global consulting firms.[2]

In this context, Menteno introduces an advanced guest request management system, automating a QR-based system to simplify interactions with HoReCa representatives and improve their response time to clients and internal task management. Guests can submit any request through the dedicated platform without creating an account or downloading an app, thus reducing wait times from several hours to just a few minutes.

“Continuous adaptation and openness to new technologies are essential in any field, but especially in the HoReCa industry. Our solution primarily responds to the challenges faced by hoteliers who need a platform that allows more efficient management of all operations. We estimate that Menteno will enable operational efficiency and improve response time to guest requests by up to 80%, from several hours to just a few minutes,” says Adrian Furtună, co-founder of Menteno.

The Menteno platform is designed with a primary focus on the HoReCa sector, being ideal for hotels, guesthouses, and apartment complexes. However, its versatility also applies to other similarly organized units, such as hospitals, student dormitories, rented office buildings, and care or residential centers. It optimizes resource allocation by automatically directing requests to available staff. Moreover, managers benefit from increased visibility over all operations, allowing them to generate detailed reports for service improvement and employee performance evaluation. At the same time, employees enjoy a more organized workflow, contributing to a more productive work environment.

Menteno is an innovative startup specializing in developing digital solutions for the HoReCa industry and other property management sectors.

“We are a self-funded startup and see great potential in the mid-market hotel segment, as well as an opening to property managers and hospitals. We aim to have the application active in properties totaling over 50,000 rooms in the HoReCa industry and beyond within a year,” adds Andrei Furtună.

Menteno launches as an innovative startup specializing in developing digital solutions for the HoReCa industry and other property management sectors. The solution is already available in three hotels with over 180 rooms and a residential complex with approximately 30 apartments, and it has a significant positive impact on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
