Wolt starts operations in Romania

Business Forum
Wolt, the Helsinki-based technology company, is set to officially launch operations on the Romanian market this May.

This strategic move follows Wolt's acquisition of the local delivery app Tazz earlier this year. The transition from Tazz to Wolt will occur in phases, starting in selected cities and culminating in Bucharest by the end of May. In total, Wolt plans to operate in 35 cities across Romania.

“Over the next few months, our focus will be to ensure a seamless transition for our users and partners. We are excited to continue helping people shop, sell, and earn—by connecting them to the very best of their local businesses and communities,” said Alin Șerban, General Manager of Wolt Romania.

Wolt's entry into Romania will grant users access to a diverse array of categories, including prepared meals, groceries, pharmacy products, pet supplies, and flowers.

“Romania is one of the most dynamic markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and we're proud to expand our presence here and build on the strong legacy of Tazz. With this transition, we aim to deliver long-term value not only to customers, merchants, and courier partners, but to the delivery platforms and e-commerce ecosystem in Romania,” stated Matko Katanec, Regional General Manager, Central Region, Wolt.

Existing Tazz users will be invited to download the Wolt app starting in May, with their accounts, saved addresses, preferences, and order history securely migrated.
