Lio-Metal opens €5 million plant in Galați

Business Forum
Romanian metal company Lio-Metal has opened a €5 million manufacturing facility in Galați. The greenfield investment was backed by financing from ING Bank.

The new facility spans over 7,000 sqm and is equipped with modern machinery, boasting an annual production capacity of approximately 25,000 tons. This expansion is projected to increase total production volume by an estimated 50% over the next two years, while also enabling product portfolio diversification and shorter delivery times.

Ion Luca, Founder and CEO of Lio-Metal, said: "After 16 years of activity, relocating to a modern factory is a natural step that allows us to operate at higher technological standards, ensuring an optimised, energy-efficient production flow that is much better adapted to current market demands."

Lio-Metal's product range includes black and galvanized welded pipes, sheet metal coils, profiled sheets, and reinforcements for PVC window profiles, among others. A notable technological innovation is a manufacturing line for galvanised pipes featuring a fully zinc-coated weld bead, ensuring complete product protection.

The company, which reported a turnover of €15 million last year, anticipates reaching €18 million by the end of this year.
