Arobs buys majority stake in Gess Engineering

Business Forum
Arobs, the largest Romanian tech company listed on the BVB, has purchased a 65% majority stake in Gess Engineering, a Romanian engineering company that develops and implements complex vehicle testing, validation, and integration solutions.

This transaction expands Arobs' engineering service line, by extending the company's expertise into system validation, safety, and vehicle integration. This competency-based approach has broad applicability across the mobility ecosystem, autonomous vehicles, and embedded systems.

Gess Engineering, founded in 2018, has grown gradually, surpassing 100 specialists between 2023 and 2024. This growth was driven by the expansion of direct collaborations with car manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, as well as the development of complex vehicle integration activities.

In 2024, Gess Engineering generated revenues of approximately RON 22 million (€4.4 million).

Voicu Oprean, Founder and CEO of Arobs, said: "Even though we are talking about the automotive sector, which has gone through a period of adjustment in recent years, the acquisition contributes to expanding the Group's engineering competencies, with applicability in both mobility and other technological domains. Within Arobs as a whole, these capabilities raise the technical standard and contribute to the delivery of high-quality solutions for multiple industries, as well as access to a different client segment than Arobs' traditional ones."

Oderay Rusu, Founder and Managing Director of Gess Engineering, said: "This transaction marks the beginning of a new stage in the development of Gess Engineering. (...) Together in this form, we will be able to offer more complex and efficient engineering solutions to our clients and grow the client portfolio together with Arobs."

The current Gess Engineering management team will continue to lead the company.
