IBC Focus expands into Moldova construction market

Business Forum
IBC Focus, a company specialising in construction sector data, has begun its internationalisation strategy by expanding into Moldova through the development of the Victa Moldova platform.

"Through the Victa Moldova platform, we offer Romanian suppliers and builders direct access to information about construction projects and sites in Moldova," said Andrei Spătaru, CEO of IBC Focus.

According to the Cluj-Napoca-based company, expansion into the Moldovan market represents a natural step, given the close ties between the two countries. Many Romanian clients of IBC Focus are already present, directly or indirectly, in the Moldovan market, and this development is well received by the industry. The expansion into Moldova is part of the company's internationalisation plan, which also includes accessing Western European markets.

The construction market in Moldova is growing and showing signs of maturation, according to IBC Focus representatives. This is particularly reflected in the quality of residential projects in Chișinău, which often exceed standards found in major Romanian cities. Public investments are mainly oriented towards renovation and energy efficiency of existing buildings.

The company notes that many private investors in Moldova prefer communication in Russian, although documentation for public projects is exclusively in Romanian. The Moldovan market is approximately 10 times smaller than Romania's, with significantly lower average project values and greater concentration around Chișinău.
