Global hospitality group Marriott International will open three new hotels in Romania in the next five years as part of a partnership with a local investor.

The new Courtyard by Marriott Sibiu Downtown will open in Q2 2026. The hotel will include 81 rooms, three conference rooms, as well as a restaurant and a SPA area.

In 2029, a new Courtyard by Marriott hotel will open in Timișoara, close to Iulius Town. The project will feature 208 rooms and apartments and four conference halls.

At the same time, a new Four Points by Sheraton hotel of Marriott Bonvoy will open in Cluj-Napoca during 2027. The hotel will feature 109 rooms and apartments, various conference halls and a restaurant.

“This agreement consolidates the demand we see for international hotel brands in the region and supports the development of Marriott Bonvoy projects in Romania,” said Silvija Lovreta, Vice President Development - Central and South Eastern Europe, Marriott International.

All hotel openings are coordinated in partnership with Romanian company Pritax Invest. Previously, the international group teamed up with Pritax Invest for the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Cluj-Napoca Downtown.

Marriott International's local portfolio currently includes six hotels, of which five are based in Bucharest.
