Business Forum
Nepi Rockcastle has inaugurated its first photovoltaic park in Chișineu-Criș, Arad County, Romania, marking a milestone in the shopping centre developer's sustainability efforts.

The €30 million project covers 51 hectares with an installed capacity of 54 MW. The park is expected to generate 70,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to powering over 29,000 Romanian households while avoiding more than 21,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

"Our first greenfield photovoltaic development represents an important step in our long-term plan to produce sustainable energy," said Andrei Radu, Group Development Director at Nepi Rockcastle. The project created over 100 jobs during construction and prioritised collaboration with regional suppliers and contractors.

The investment is part of Nepi Rockcastle's €110 million green energy programme, which includes photovoltaic projects across Central and Eastern Europe with a total installed capacity of 159 MW. The projects will be developed on existing commercial properties and through two greenfield developments in Romania.

"This project reinforces our relationships with business partners and demonstrates how financial discipline and sustainability can generate shared and lasting value," added Eliza Predoiu, CFO at Nepi Rockcastle. The company aims to become a relevant player in renewable energy production dedicated to its commercial infrastructure across the region.
