Contakt enters Czech market with Prague stores

Business Forum
Romanian mobile phone accessories retailer Contakt has announced its entry into the Czech market with two locations in Prague, marking a new step in its European expansion plan. The company has signed for locations in high-traffic malls with official opening estimated for March 2026.

"We chose the Czech Republic following careful market analysis during several visits. We noticed higher demand than supply for premium products there," says Marcel Ioftor, Co-Founder of Contakt. The team found low competition relative to consumption potential compared to Romania, where phone accessories supply is much denser.

The Czech operations will replicate Contakt's partnership-based model used successfully in Romania. Local operations managers will undergo three-month training in Romania, with the Romanian management team providing direct assistance for the first six months. "We consider ourselves a school of entrepreneurship for those who want to start a business from scratch while having a partner who supports them," adds Ioftor.

Contakt expects €600,000-800,000 turnover in the first year and targets at least 10 stores in the Czech Republic by end-2026. The portfolio will include premium screen protection solutions like PanzerGlass films, phone cases, and products from Czech partner Swissten.

The company continues its share subscription period until December 3 for listing on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. "Going public allows us to consolidate our leading position and accelerate expansion in Romania and abroad," says Darius Petric, Co-Founder and President of the Board of Directors.
