GTC secures LEED certification for two office buildings in Bucharest

Business Forum
GTC's Premium Point and Premium Plaza office buildings in Bucharest have achieved LEED v4.1 Existing Buildings certification at Platinum level.

Premium Plaza and Premium Point, with total leasable areas of 8,468 sqm and 6,354 sqm respectively, are two office buildings in Bucharest's Central Business District that have been part of GTC's portfolio since 2016.

"GTC's investments in optimising these two buildings, inaugurated over 15 years ago, resulted in achieving LEED Existing Building at Platinum level and demonstrate how the involvement of responsible developers with a well-established ESG policy contributes to the sustainable consolidation of existing office hubs in Bucharest," said Răzvan Nica, CEO and Founder of BuildGreen.

"GTC was the first developer in CEE to publish a comprehensive ESG report and, in this capacity, has constantly focused on sustainable development, recognising our responsibility towards the environment, proximity areas and local communities," said Gabriela Cârstea, Asset Manager GTC Romania. "This achievement also means that all GTC assets in Romania are now LEED certified. In Bucharest, we own four office buildings with a total leasable area of 62,000 sqm, each having LEED certification at Gold or Platinum level."

Inaugurated in 2008 and 2009 respectively, Premium Plaza and Premium Point stood out following their recent evaluation and certification through above-average energy efficiency, supported by system optimisation and reduced energy consumption compared to similar buildings. Both buildings excel in "Indoor Environmental Quality" through superior indoor air quality, with specific measurements confirming compliance with applicable international standards and ensuring high levels of comfort and health for occupants.
