OSRAM Romania announces certification of new LED products for automotive market

Business Forum
OSRAM, a global leader in automotive lighting solutions, announces a first for the Romanian market. Its new LED products, the H1, H4, H7, and W5W bulbs, have received full compliance certificates from the Romanian Automotive Registry (RAR). The OSRAM-certified bulbs (H1, H4, H7, and W5W) are the first in Romania to receive approvals for these specific categories.

With an extended lifespan of up to 5 years and superior beam quality, the bulbs are designed for use in low beam, high beam, and position lights. The products stand out by providing stronger and clearer light than traditional halogen bulbs, ensuring safety and visual comfort for other road users.

“The Romanian automotive bulb market is now advancing to the next level of performance, quality, and technology. We are pleased that OSRAM is bringing these innovative solutions to Romania. The certification of the H1, H4, H7, and W5W bulbs by the Romanian Automotive Registry is proof of our commitment to customers, as well as to the safety and performance of our products. These bulbs, already approved in Germany, France, and other European countries, mark an important step in the evolution of automotive lighting technology,” said Adrian David, Managing Director of OSRAM Romania.

The official certification for Romania was granted following a rigorous process that included the thorough verification of technical documentation, testing of the bulbs in the RAR laboratory, and the evaluation of administrative compliance.

From this moment on, OSRAM bulbs can be used on public roads in Romania, as is already the case in 27 other European countries.

“The fact that OSRAM is the first and only LED bulb manufacturer to obtain these approvals for Romania is a significant achievement for the entire industry and demonstrates the technological superiority of our products. We are committed to continuously providing the best automotive lighting solutions, which enhance road safety and offer drivers comfort while on the road,” emphasized Adrian David.

Some of the OSRAM products certified in Romania have also received international recognition from prestigious institutions. The OSRAM Night Breaker LED and TRUCKSTAR H7 LED bulbs were awarded this year at the German INNOvation Gala.

The newly approved H1, H4, H7, and W5W models by RAR will be available on the Romanian market starting this month. The products are intended for both cars and commercial vehicles, offering a superior alternative to traditional lighting solutions.

OSRAM is the undisputed leader in automotive lighting, with over 100 years of experience and an impressive global presence. Based in Munich, Germany, OSRAM employs more than 22,000 people and holds over 15,000 patents, being recognized for its top innovations in the lighting industry. Under the motto “Sense the power of light,” OSRAM continues to redefine standards in automotive lighting, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and performance.
