Catalyst Romania exits avocatnet.ro

Business Forum
Catalyst Romania Fund I has announced the sale of its shares in avocatnet.ro, a Romanian Information as a Service platform specialising in compliance and regulatory insights, back to the company's founding team.

This marks Catalyst Romania's sixth exit, following previous sales including VectorWatch to FitBit and SmartBill to Visma.

Operating under the Inteligo Media umbrella, avocatnet.ro has become a key source of information for Romanian professionals.

Marius Ghenea, Managing Partner at Catalyst Romania, said: “ We are delighted to see avocatnet.ro now recognised as one of the country's most trusted portals, a leading hub for legislative and tax-related knowledge and we are certain the team will keep raising the bar, but for Catalyst Romania Fund I it is time for the exit, given the vintage of our initial VC fund, the first VC Fund for Romania, launched based on the JEREMIE initiative a dozen years ago.”

avocatnet.ro has grown from an advertising-based revenue model to a subscription-based platform for legislative and tax developments.

The platform also offers online courses, workshops, and practical guidance on topics such as GDPR and e-Factura.

Romania's hotels see higher earnings, fewer tourists in 2025

Romania's hotel industry recorded a 16% increase in turnover in 2025, reaching €2.2 billion, according to a Crosspoint Real Estate report, but the drivers behind this growth signal a structural shift. The advance is driven primarily by rate increases and the upscale segment, while overall demand has shown the first signs of softening.
