WDP industrial pipeline in Romania tops €30 million

Business Forum
Logistics developer WDP is set to bolster its strategic position in Romania by launching three new industrial projects totalling approximately 40,000 sqm.

These developments, situated on existing land banks, reinforce a domestic portfolio currently valued at over €1.6 billion, comprising more than 2 million sqm of lettable area across 80 locations.

In Bucharest-Ștefănești, WDP is constructing a 14,000 sqm extension for the retailer Auchan. The facility, designed for ambient storage, is being built to EDGE certification standards. Representing an investment of approximately €9.1 million, the project is secured by a 10-year lease and is scheduled for completion in Q2 2027.

Simultaneously, the developer is expanding its footprint in Deva to support Auchan's regional logistics. This 9,400 sqm project will integrate both ambient and temperature-controlled storage solutions. The expansion requires an investment of roughly €7.6 million, with a delivery date set for Q4 2026 under a 10-year rental agreement.

The most significant new commitment is located in Sibiu, where WDP will develop a 15,000 sqm industrial facility for Siemens. Estimated at €14 million, the project is slated for delivery in Q4 2027. The site will house an advanced production environment featuring high-level automation, robotics, and digitalised processes. Siemens has committed to the location via a 15-year long-term lease.
