Carrefour Romania names new CFO

Business Forum
Carrefour Romania has announced the appointment of Anne-Sophie Bauwens as its new CFO and Member of the Executive Committee, effective immediately.

Bauwens brings over 15 years of experience in financial management, pricing strategies, and strategic planning to her new role. She succeeds Régis Moratin, who will take on a new key position within the Carrefour Group.

Throughout her career with Carrefour, Bauwens has held leadership positions in Belgium, France, Taiwan, and Italy. Her journey began in Carrefour Belgium, where she focused on FMCG and dairy products as a Business Controller.

At the Group's HQ, she coordinated financial consolidation as Group Financial Controller, collaborating with European financial leaders and contributing to operational performance improvements.

In 2018, she led the Business Controlling & Pricing department in Carrefour Taiwan, playing a key role in integrating over 200 stores following a strategic acquisition. Since 2021, Bauwens has served as Business Controlling Director in Carrefour Italy, where she helped shape the financial strategy.

“I firmly believe that the finance function has an essential role, not only in monitoring performance and efficiently allocating resources but also in cultivating a data-driven and responsible organisational culture. I also aim to support key organisational values such as social inclusion and female leadership through direct involvement in such initiatives within the team,” said Bauwens.

In her new role, Bauwens' priorities include strengthening performance visibility, promoting a data-oriented financial culture, and developing talent within her team.

Carrefour Romania operates a network of over 450 stores nationwide, including Hipermarket, Market, Express, and Supeco formats, with a team of over 17,000 employees.
