Aquila posts 17% revenue growth on nine months

Business Forum
Romanian FMCG distributor Aquila reported a 17% increase in revenues to approximately RON 2.5 billion (€500 million) in the first nine months of 2025, driven by strong performance in its distribution and logistics segments.

The distribution segment recorded an 18% increase while logistics grew by 21%, offsetting a 4% decline in transportation. The growth reflects organic development, new business lines and operational synergies from recent acquisitions. The HoReCa channel showed the strongest growth at 30%, followed by traditional retail at 25%.

"The integration of the acquired companies and the investments made in recent years have generated visible synergies in 2025, reflected in the upward trend of revenues and EBITDA," said Cătălin Vasile, CEO of Aquila. "We remain on a solid growth trajectory and have all the necessary tools to achieve the proposed medium-term objectives."

Revenues from own brands, including 126 items, exceeded RON 105 million (€20.6 million), up 19% year-on-year. Food products under brands Gradena, LaMasă, and Yachtis advanced 16%, while non-food categories JetXpert, AquaXpert, and ExpertWipes increased by 29%.

EBITDA continued its upward trend with a 5% advance to RON 130 million (€25.5 million). However, net profit for the first nine months stood at RON 34 million (€6.6 million), down from the previous year due to increased salaries, exchange rate differences and Romania's 1% minimum tax on turnover, which raised the effective taxation rate to approximately 50% of gross profit.
