Radisson Hotel Group plans large expansion in Romania

Business Forum
Radisson Hotel Group has announced a raft of new developments in Romania, as it sees the country as a pivotal market for growth.

A key highlight is the upcoming Radisson RED Bucharest Old Town, slated to open in 2027. The project will transform a 1940s office building into a 104-room hotel, blending modern amenities with historical charm in the heart of Old Town.

It will mark the first Radisson RED property in Romania and the fourth Radisson Hotel Group establishment in Bucharest. The hotel will feature a restaurant, bar, co-working lounge, outdoor terrace, and versatile meeting spaces.

Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Office, said: “Romania is a dynamic and rapidly growing market for hotel development. The country's recent accession to the Schengen Area is expected to boost travel, trade, and tourism by eliminating border controls and facilitating easier movement of capital. This development, combined with Romania's size, rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities, makes it a candidate for focused growth.”

Further enhancing its diverse offerings, the group will introduce the Radisson Blu Grand Mountain Resort, Brașov, opening in early 2027. The resort will include luxury accommodations, spa treatments, gourmet dining, and activities like hiking, skiing, and mountain biking.

Additionally, the Radisson Blu Resort & Residences, Mamaia, set for a 2028 opening, promises to elevate the luxury travel experience on the Black Sea coast with 234 hotel rooms and 102 branded residences.

Another highly anticipated development is the Radisson Lagoon Hotel Bucharest, featuring 323 rooms, a spa, an exclusive sandy beach, and access to a 10,000 sqm lagoon within Bucharest's Central District Lagoon City.

At present, the group's portfolio in Romania comprises the Radisson Blu Hotel and the Park Inn by Radisson Bucharest Hotel & Residence with a combined 659 rooms. Across the country, the company's network includes the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cluj, and the Radisson Blu Aurum Hotel, Brașov.
